Not just another pretty face.

You might remember a while back I challenged myself to become a better portrait photographer. Well over the holidays I was lucky enough to have all these willing subjects who were fun, easy going and completely gorgeous. These lovely young ladies are my nieces and they were wonderful guinea pigs for my portrait practice...and did I mention gorgeous (inside and out)!

So I have to tell you the nickname for the little blonde pictured above is "Foxy"...doesn't she just look like a Fox?
Now I realize that by now you must be saying..."So, where are the boys?" Well apart from my children there is only one other boy and I have to say...what a real ham!

    Great portraits; you have captured a great deal of spirit! I absolutely love the lighthouse shot too....
    (PS re. your comment on my blog; I actually live in the UK on the English Welsh border. Pacific NW... I wish! Though I understand our climates are quite similar? How do you cope with it after oz?)

    Oh! That post was when I started following you (errr, not in a bad way...) It's wonderful to see what you've challenged yourself with. And how lucky you have willing models :O) My cousins will not go near my camera, so I have the baby in, oh, i suppose, well, every shot. At least I'll be good at her portrait, if nothing else.

    I have a feeling you're just going to go further and further this year with your portraits. I can

    This is what I'd call a two-fer post. Wonderful portrait shots and some fantastic Australian vacay shots. Very good work on the portrait shots - that isn't something that I'm very good at.

    These are GORGEOUS! That first photo is sensational, and your models are all beauties. FUN, FUN, FUN! I think you're well on your way to being a SUPER portrait photographer! WOW! I stink at portraits . . . I much prefer taking shots of stationary objects, that don't complain . . . ;) Maybe I'm just a coward.
