Back to the Blog

mary

So I've had a break from the blog and a lot has happened it seems in my absence. The bushfires in Australia have been devastating. Thank goodness none of my family were affected but my heart goes out to all the families that were. If you are crafty and want to help the victims, the Toy Society are collecting handmade toys for children affected by the fires. Other donations to help aid the victims can be made here.

A thank you also to Aimee Mobley for her lovely package of handmade gifts that arrived yesterday...just in time for Valentines Day. My kids will LOVE them.

I have to tell you I have had somewhat of an epiphany during my days of non blogging. I hadn't realised quite how much time my blogging was taking up so I am determined to try and limit my blog hopping. You know ...you read someone's blog and that has a link that you follow to someone else's blog and so on and so on. I really can get lost in the blogosphere for hours. So I am going to attempt "Responsible Blogging" ...we'll see how that goes. If you see my comments all over other people's blogs you know that I haven't been very successful!

  1. Nice to have you back. I was wondering if you had family in Victoria. It's horrible!

  2. So glad to "see" you back! Hope you all are doing well.

And I'm guilty of "wasting" time in the blogosphere myself. I now have a timer stuck to the side of my desk, as a reminder to get off my duff and get something done. It's amazing how much you can get done when you're not sitting at the computer. lol ;) And I've found that if I set it for 30 mintues at a time, I can browse quite a few blogs!

  3. Hey. I thought of you with the fires and meant to email. Glad your family wasn't affected. Terrible tragedy. I understand about the blogging time suck. I wonder what is going to happen to me when I go back to work, whenever that is. xx

  4. Haha! Boy, can I understand time wasting at the computer. If you look at my facebook page (yes another time waster) you will see I have a current discussion going with some of my work at home mom friends about time management. A 9-5 desk job has such clear boundaries. Working at home, especially work that is tied to blogging, well, it's a challenge to say the least! I'm glad you're back and will be watching... ;) Nah, I'm too busy policing myself to be watching you. ;) See you tonight! :)

  5. totally understand the "responsible blogging" concept. I need to take your lead and be responsible myself. I spend entirely too much time here.

  6. You're back! Yay! I've missed your posts and photos while you were gone. Blog hopping is a time drainer. I don't even want to think about how much time I spend. I won't call it wasting time, though, because with every image that I see of someone else's, I learn something.
