Its over....(sniff!)

IMG_4638

Hmmm..I think she is thinking what I'm thinking.....

its over...I'm back home....

have been back for nearly 3 days....

going through the post vacation blues.

My lovely friend Michelle asked me when she can expect some sunny vacation pictures to appear on my blog! Well ..I have to say I am still in denial that my vacation is over.

I look back over the last 3 weeks and we really had such a fantastic time.

We caught up with our crazy family and friends

We ate all the food that we have not been able to get here in the States

My youngest son learned to swim

He lost his first tooth on Christmas day

My older son learned to surf.

I got tan....I even wore a bikini!

My daughter got to spend precious time with the cousins she calls her sisters

Even Paloma had an many exciting adventures that will be the subject of a future post.

...and I took over 1500 photos..(yikes...am seriously putting off going through them because it seems a little overwhelming at this point.) You will see them featured on the blog over the next few weeks.

It's sad that it has come to an end. We traveled over 19,000 miles and took 8 different flights...and here we are...back where we started.

....and this is what we have come back to. Record snowfalls for December..from one extreme to the other!

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

  1. I can not contemplate that much snow, it seems crazy. I was only thinking yesterday how grateful I am to celebrate NYE in summer as most of our celebrations are spent at outdoor barbeques.

I love the first beach shot so clever. It’s so cute that your son lost his first tooth on Christmas day. I am glad you had an enjoyable holiday.

  3. Welcome home!! Were you able to get into your driveway when you came home, or did your kind neighbor across the street shovel your drive out for you?? =)

Sounds like you have a great trip. Can't wait to see the rest of your photos.

  4. I'm SO glad you're back home and back to blogging again! But I'm so sad you had to leave that fabulous place and come back to all that SNOW! HOLY TOLEDO BATMAN! I think I might have just turned around and flew back . . .

I'm truly glad that you had such a fabulous trip, and you all made it safely back home.

Happy New Year and I can't wait to see more pics! ;)

  6. Wow. I think us expats realize even moreso how meaningful these trips really are. I am so glad you had a wonderful time with your friends and family. I really am. Can't wait to see your pics and very very curious about what foods you can eat "back home" as compared to the States. I think I am beginning to forget a little what foods we are missing (although we do have lots of American brands here in the UAE too) and know when I get home it'll be like crazy goodness as I walk into a grocery! Hugs to you. Hope you are all adjusting to the time change well. xx

p.s. I almost forgot. Happy New Year!

  8. I was thinking about you during the storms, imagining your snow shock when you got home! Ours is almost melted now and I miss it, but I grew up where it snows. I can't imagine being so far from home, living somewhere that's different in every way possible!

I love that first photo and I truly can't wait to see the rest! Blogging will definitely give you a chance to relive your wonderful holiday.

  12. Donna thank you for stopping by my blog. It means so much to me.

Your products as well as your photography is noteworthy. I love the way you have captured the little girl. I assume it is your daughter. Pensive yet relaxed.

I am from South Africa. I promise to continue soaking up the sunshine for you while winter lingers in your corner of the world!

    Blessings,
    Claire

  14. I know that feeling.....going through photos from vacations I just came back from helps me relive those moments. Coming back to that much snow, however, is just plain wrong! haha Now, you just need a vacation from the vacation!!
