7/52: Food Challenge Complete

The 30 Day Whole Food Challenge is officially complete.  The verdict?

Life is not worth living without chocolate.

But seriously I have learned a lot.

1- Organic is the way to go.  We will be buying organic produce, meat etc from here on out.

2 - Eating less bread and grains was a big change for me and while I won't be giving it up I will definitely be eating less of it.

3 - The main take away for me is just being conscious of what I am eating.  No more mindless eating and snacking.

And for all of you wondering......

In other news......when you wish for snow you can't complain when it also comes with sub zero
temps.  Serious sub zero temps.  With windchill it has been down to -15F ...that's -30C. Yikes. But it was beautiful all the same as long as you stay indoors. This is the pool I swim at.  You can see the snow through the window.

Super Bowl came and went.  Our Seattle Seahawks demolished the Denver Broncos.  It was a great game for us to watch although the Denver fans must have hated every minute of it.  It certainly was a whitewash.

There was a lot of temptation at our friends Super Bowl party, and I will admit to caving and eating some peanut M&M's.

And our current group of foster puppies are due to go back to the shelter today for adoption and I must say that out of the 30 odd puppies we have fostered, these ones have been the biggest handful.  They ate through our phone cable...twice, our internet cable....twice, and various other cords and cables.  This what was left of matts earbuds.

And don't think we were just leaving these lying around.  The phone and internet cables were unplugged from the wall and put on a table 3 feet off the ground. How they got them is a mystery.

Max thinks that he has escaped his " glasses picture" appearing on the blog.  I think not!

Training has been a real frustration lately.  A nagging knee problem has brought a halt to my running and with only 4 months left until IMCDA it has caused much consternation and muttering.  More to come on this one me thinks.
